VIRTUOSO LIFE | JAMAICA

Back in January I went to Jamaica (yes, I know, it was terrible escaping the winter doldrums) to shoot a cover and feature for Virtuoso Life. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Jamaica several times while on assignment and this time was special because I got to road trip around and see some new spots like Treasure Beach, on the southern shore. The soundtrack was everything from choral musical spilling out of churches to dancehall blasting out of speakers strapped to car rooftops. The island nation never ceases to amaze me with its clear sense of identity and rich culture! Now, the issue is finally out and these are some of my favorite outtakes.

Cointreau | La Soirée | Chicago

Cointreau has been hosting a contest, encouraging Pinterest users to showcase what their dream soirée might look like. If chosen, Cointreau brings the winner’s dream to life by throwing them and their friends a party. I directed and produced an ad that documented the June winner, Jess Burget’s bash in Chicago. You can check out the video and it’s accompanying stills on Cointreau’s site. I collaborated with DP, Arion Doerr and Editor, Sam Fuller to produce this project.

TRAVEL + LEISURE | CHICAGO GUIDE

08_GUID_Chicago-1Between the art scene, my culinary adventures (so many hot dogs!), and all the inviting locals, my recent trip to Chicago for Travel + Leisure has shed a new light on the midwestern city.

PARENTS MAGAZINE | VEGGIE CHALLENGE PARTS II + III

These are some of my favorite layouts from the second and third installments of the Veggie Challenge story I photographed for Parents recently. Poppy, punchy, color and graphic overhead shots are so fun!

Japanese Harper’s Bazaar | Kerry Diamond

There’s not a woman in the food world who isn’t currently obsessed with Cherry Bombe, myself included. It was of course my pleasure then, to photograph co-founder Kerry Diamond, at home, for Japanese Harper’s Bazaar. Kerry is very down to earth and so is her food. We hung out over fried chicken, cornbread, and my new favorite raw green salad: collard and roasted peanut.

Country Living | Louisville Kitchen

Just a quick little post to share my latest cover. My favorite room in the house has always been the kitchen, and I love me some patterned cement tiles, so there was a little bit of envy here! Though we missed the derby by a week, we had a great time in Louisville shooting and drinking bourbon. Looking forward to going back some time soon.

MY ICELANDIC ROAD TRIP

You might’ve noticed on my Instagram feed that I took a road trip through Iceland with my good friend Martha. For over ten years I’ve wanted to visit this magical landscape with my camera. The island is every bit as breathtaking as everyone has told me and Martha and I made some awesome discoveries from hot springs to ice cream. (Captions and info below the images)

Mast Brothers | Telegraph Magazine

Brooklyn’s favorite chocolate makers, the Mast Brothers, have opened a shop in London. So, I recently spent the day in the brothers’ Williamsburg store for the Telegraph, shooting portraits, interior details, and food, while Rick cracked jokes and Michael got my assistant and I hopped up on chocolate. Pretty great day. The cube-shaped chocolates I mention (pictured below) are relatively new to their shop and come in flavors like Toasted Milk, Maple Cream, and Olive Oil. Yeah, they’re special.

PARENTS MAGAZINE | FOURTH OF JULY

I think it is safe to say that summer has finally arrived in the Northeast (strawberries are a sure sign!) Having had such a late start though, it’s hard to believe that The Fourth of July is just around the corner. Last summer, Parents threw quite the picnic in Prospect Park to give their readers some creative ideas on how to celebrate the holiday. I photographed this beautiful production with the cutest bunch of models and a stellar and almost completely female crew, and I’m beyond excited for it to finally hit the stands! Happy picnic season, everyone! (Prop styling by Sarah Cave, food styling by Adrienne Anderson.)

DELICIOUS MAGAZINE

I’ve got new work out in Australian magazine, Delicious, that features trending food and drink spots in NYC. This eating adventure took us through Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens as I captured everything from bagels with lox piled high, to family style Korean BBQ, to locally sourced American fare. We tried some new things, met our neighbors, and even caught a glimpse of Steve Buscemi on the High Line. The chicken wings from Mission Cantina were a personal favorite–I’ll be back for more very soon.
